Oando Foundation Nigeria is an independent charity established in 2011 focused on transforming lives through education and social economic empowerment by supporting the Nigerian government in achieving its Universal Basic Education (UBE) goal. The Foundation is funded by 1% of the pretax profit from Oando PLC.
Oando Foundation is fully registered charity in the United States and has been determined by the IRS to be tax exempt under 501(c)(3). It is also registered under the Charities Commission in the UK.
Through its flagship Adopt-A-School initiative, the Foundation is committed to implementing sustainable programmes aimed at increasing the access and quality of basic education in Nigeria, with a focus on the girl child in Northern states. The strategies which would address this objectives are:
So far, the Foundation has awarded scholarships to 529 pupils and adopted 47 schools across the country. Our plan is to adopt 100 schools by 2015.
